TRT Logbook — Privacy Policy

TRT Logbook is an iPhone app for tracking physician-prescribed testosterone replacement therapy. This policy describes what the app does with your information.

The short version

TRT Logbook does not collect your data. Everything you enter stays on your iPhone. The app has no accounts, no servers and no analytics, and it makes no network connections at all. Nobody — including the developer — can see what you record.

What TRT Logbook stores on your device

Everything below is written to the app's private storage area on your iPhone, and nowhere else:

• Your protocol: substance, dose, frequency, injection route and vial concentration.
• Your dose log: each dose you record, with its date and time.
• Blood work: draw dates and the results you enter or import, including the reference ranges your lab printed.
• A record of which lab report a result was read from: the issuing lab's name, the file's name, and a fingerprint of its contents so the same report isn't imported twice.
• Wellness and symptom entries.
• Reminder settings, and app preferences such as units and appearance.

Apple Health

If — and only if — you grant permission, TRT Logbook reads seven passively collected values from Apple Health: sleep analysis, resting heart rate, systolic and diastolic blood pressure, body mass, step count and exercise minutes.

• These are read to display alongside your own entries. TRT Logbook does not copy them into its own storage; they are held in memory while the app is running.
• TRT Logbook never writes anything back to Apple Health, and reads no clinical health records.
• You can revoke access at any time in the iOS Settings app, under Privacy & Security → Health → TRT Logbook. Health data itself belongs to the Health app, and is deleted there.

Lab reports you import

When you choose a PDF or photo of a lab report, TRT Logbook reads it entirely on your device, using Apple's on-device text recognition. Nothing is uploaded.

TRT Logbook does not keep a copy of the file. It reads the document, shows you what it found for you to confirm, and saves the results — along with the lab's name, the file's name and a fingerprint of its contents, so the same report isn't imported twice. Your original file stays wherever you keep it, untouched.

TRT Logbook asks for your permission before it reads a report for the first time, and you can withdraw that permission at any time under Read Lab Reports in App Preferences.

Reminders

Dose reminders are local notifications scheduled by the app on your device. They are not sent through any server, and no push notification service is used.

What TRT Logbook never does

• No account, sign-in or profile.
• No analytics, crash reporting, advertising or tracking of any kind — there is no advertising identifier use and nothing to ask you to consent to tracking for.
• No third-party SDKs, and no data shared with or sold to anyone.
• No network requests. The app contains no networking code.

Exporting your data

You can export your data as a CSV file and share it — for example, with your prescriber. Once you send that file, it goes wherever you send it and is no longer covered by this policy. Treat it as you would any other document containing your health information.

How long it is kept, and how to delete it

• Your data stays on your device until you delete it. There is no expiry, because there is nowhere for it to expire from.
• Individual doses, draws and entries can be deleted in the app.
• Delete All Lab Data in App Preferences removes every blood draw and result, and the record of which report each came from, along with anything the app learned from them.
• Deleting the app deletes all of it. Lab report files you imported from are not affected, because TRT Logbook never held a copy of them — they stay wherever you keep them.
• If you back up your iPhone — to iCloud or to a computer — that backup may include TRT Logbook's data. The backup is held under your own Apple Account and governed by Apple's terms and encryption, not by the developer, who cannot access it. You can exclude the app from iCloud Backup in the iOS Settings app.

Children

TRT Logbook is intended for adults tracking a prescribed therapy. It is not directed at children.

Changes to this policy

Any change is published at this address with a new "last updated" date. If a future version of the app ever transmits data off the device, this policy will say so before that version ships.

Email [email protected] about anything in this policy, including a request to know what the app holds about you or to have it deleted. There is a limit to what that request can achieve from this end: the data is on your device and not reachable by anyone else, so deleting it is something you do rather than something you ask for — see How long it is kept, and how to delete it above, which also covers what a device backup may still hold.
